What is Rock 'N' Roll Captions?

It's a tool that turns your video's audio into ready-to-use SRT caption files with natural, readable line breaks. Upload an audio file, and you'll get an SRT file that actually looks good on screen — no tedious manual reformatting required.

Why can't I just use Premiere Pro's auto-captions?

Premiere's built-in captions are rough. The transcription mangles proper nouns, keeps every stutter, skips punctuation, and splits phrases awkwardly. Each box below is a separate caption as it appears on screen:

Proper nouns corrected, punctuation fixed, natural line breaks. Multiply that by hundreds of captions and you're saving hours of cleanup.

What about Rev.com or other transcription services?

Rev and similar services are more expensive, have worse AI-based transcription tools, don't generate natural line breaks, and also require you to sign up for annoying accounts and subscriptions and then spam you.

How does it work?

Under the hood it's a pretty complex, multi-step process—transcribing your audio, then working out where each caption should start, end, and break so it reads naturally, all while keeping the timecodes accurate. Getting it to do that well took a ton of testing and tuning. The result is captions that look like a human formatted them, minus the manual work.

What languages do you support?

Whisper automatically detects and transcribes 90+ languages. The line-break optimization works best with English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, and Italian, but produces good results for most languages with space-separated words.

Do I need to create an account?

No. No accounts, no subscriptions, no credits that expire. You buy a small pack of credits, get your SRT files, and you're done.

Can I try it before I pay?

Yes—no account or payment required. Upload your file and you'll see a free on-screen preview of the first 10 captions, plus you can download a free 5-caption sample .SRT to confirm it opens and works correctly in your editor before you buy.

How much does it cost?

Credits come in packs: 4 credits for $2, or 50 for $10 (just 20¢ each). A short-form video uses 1 credit; a long-form (YouTube) video uses 3. No subscriptions, and credits never expire. We're currently switching payment processors — card payments will be back shortly.

What file formats do you accept?

MP3 and M4A audio files up to 25MB and 30 minutes. If your audio is longer than that, you can split it into chunks and process them separately.

What do I get back?

A standard .SRT file that works with Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, and any other editor that supports subtitles. Import it, and your captions are ready to style.

Who is this for?

Professional video editors, assistant editors, and content creators who caption regularly. If you're doing one video a year, manual fixes are fine. If you're captioning videos weekly, this saves hours of tedious work.

What if the output isn't perfect?
